Planting: Choose a location with well-drained soil. Space trees appropriately based on your desired outcome (closer for a dense hedge, further apart for individual specimens or a less dense screen). For a tight hedge, planting 3 feet apart is often recommended. For more space and continued privacy, 5 -7 feet apart is suitable.
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during the establishment period (the first year or two) and during dry spells. Avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Once established, it is drought-tolerant but will appreciate occasional watering during prolonged dry periods.
Mulching: Apply a layer of organic mulch around the base of the trees to help retain soil moisture, regulate temperature, and suppress weeds.
