    America's Choice Evergreen Privacy Tree

Thuja Green Giant is a graceful fast growing evergreen tree, one that provides complete privacy, and requires no coddling! No tree is ever completely maintenance free, but Thuja Green Giant is very close.

This Gentle Giant Will Not Disappoint!

Thuja Green Giant is becoming more and more popular among landscapers, growers, and homeowners a like. This hardy, fast growing evergreen tree makes the perfect privacy screen!

It's is a very easy plant to grow, tolerating almost any soil type and resistant to damage from ice and snow, as well as deer and most other pests.

When you are considering how to grow a Green Giant, remember that these are easy-care plants. You can shear them if you like, but pruning is not necessary. Irrigate them during dry weather even after establishment to ensure that your plants stay healthy.

Green Giant Arborvitae will grow to be 25 to 35 feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 6 to 8 feet. It has a low canopy, and should not be planted underneath power lines. It grows at a fast rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for 60 years or more.

This tree does best in full sun to partial shade. It prefers to grow in average to moist conditions, and shouldn't be allowed to dry out. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. It is somewhat tolerant of urban pollution, and will benefit from being planted in a relatively sheltered location.

Consider applying a thick mulch around the root zone in winter to protect it in exposed locations or colder microclimates. This particular variety is an interspecific hybrid.

Plant 5 to 6 Ft. apart. Stay back 4 Ft. off property lines.Thuja Green Giant will grow 6 to 8 Ft. wide x 25 to 30 Ft. tall. Do Not plant your Thujas closer than 5 Ft. apart thinking of quicker coverage ! If you plant to close together it will cause die-back as trees grow larger, not enough air circulation.

Rest assured that when you order from Thuja Gardens, you are getting the highest Quality Thujas available anywhere at any price. We do not buy from other nurseries, We grow what we sell. We are old school, We still answer our phone and do our best to answer your questions.

Thuja Green Giant Hybrid Arborvitae is a hybrid-cross between (Thuja standishii x plicata)

Back in the mid-nineties when Thuja Green Giant started gaining popularly, most nurseries did not have any big trees to take their cuttings from. The western red cedar had been around for years and it is my theory that thousands of cuttings were taken from Western Red Cedar trees and sold as Thuja Green Giant. This is just my theory, not a comprisery theory, I would not name names if I had any.

At Thuja Gardens we are still taking our cuttings from the trees we planted in 1999, they came from a big propagation nursery in Georgia. Today the Thuja Green Giants we planted in 1999 are only 8 feet wide x 30 feet tall, no way they are going to grow 30 more feet.

I still stand by the fact: Thuja Green Giant trees purchased from Thuja Gardens will grow 6 to 8 feet wide x 25 to 35 feet tall.

Trees arrived quickly and packing was 10/10. Trees were very secure and VERY healthy looking. Got them in the ground the next day and so far so good! These look way better than the ones I bought from a local store. Time will tell, of course, but A++++++ for Thuja gardens from me. Roy was very communicative though the process and emailed me multiple times. Great company, will buy again if needed!

I purchased 16 3-4 trees through Thuja Gardens; 3 days after I placed my order the trees arrived healthy and in perfect condition- exactly as described. Customer service cannot be matched- Roy answered all my questions promptly and after a website glitch was brought to his attention he credited me the extra money I'd spent AND threw in 16 packets of fertilizer at no cost to me. For price, tree quality, customer service, and prompt shipping you cannot beat Thuja Gardens. I will definitely be ordering from them again!

Our Thuja Green Giant trees arrived quickly and well packaged. They appear strong and healthy. We ordered seventeen of the 3-4 foot sized trees. My husband and a friend of his planted them two days later to get them into the ground quickly. They planted them 4 feet off of our neighbors fence, and spaced the trees 6 feet apart. My husband has been watering them daily and they look great. We can't wait for them to flourish in size in order to serve as a natural privacy hedge to cover our neighbor's fence.

  • Our Story

"We specilize in Thujas and they are the biggest part of our business. Our objective is to offer the Highest Quality, Lowest Priced Thujas on the market.

We got really interested in these trees back in 1995.We started out offering them to landscape customers & local sales here at the nursery.

Due to the popularity of this hybrid, we decided to reach out to the public on a large scale through online sales in 2005. These trees are available at local nurseries and hardwares, the problem is that most only have a very few in stock. This makes it impossible to create most Privacy screens. "
