A long period of striking summer flower color, attractive fall foliage, superior bark
exfoliation, good disease and insect resistance and good drought tolerance all combine to
make this Crape-Myrtle a favorite small tree for either formal or informal landscapes. It is
highly recommended for planting in urban and suburban areas.
Natchez crepe myrtles grow 20'-30' high in the South. The foliage becomes a
reddish-orange in fall. The bark peels off attractively, rather like that of birches, adding
winter interest. Natchez crepe myrtles bear white blooms. As with most crepe myrtle, the
flowers are the main selling point. They not only grow in striking clusters, but put on a
display that lasts longer than that for most plants (mid-summer to fall). The blooms yield to
fruits that are brownish and persist through winter.

Natchez Crapemyrtle
Pair Natchez in rolls with Muskogee. They both grow to 25 or 30
feet tall with a good 18 to 20 feet spread. They both bloom at the
same time. Planted on both sides of your drive, they will create a
tunnel in comming years.
This picture taken in the winter, just imagine how it would look in
the summer when in full bloom!

Over the years, it's become the crape myrtle of choice
The flowers are abundant, with a season lasting from May to September
The crape myrtles are blooming, and one in particular is stealing the show.
Peeling bark reveals a dark cinnamon brown trunk, giving the effect of a brown to pale cream mottled trunk that is especially noteworthy in winter and spring.
