A popular cultivar of crapemyrtle ‘Lipan’ is tough and has year round interest including a
long flowering period. Useful around buildings, carparks and along fence lines. Masses of
medium lavender coloured flowers in large panicles are produced on current season’s
growth in summer.
Dark greenish-grey coloured, exfoliating (after about three years) to reveal a very
attractive ornamental whitish-beige underbark.Adaptable to a range of conditions, heat
and some dryness but requires adequate moisture during establishment. Bred for
resistance to powdery mildew.
Best in moist, well drained, slightly acidic soils in a position receiving full sun.
Transplants easily provided adequate moisture levels are maintained.
