The Bradford Pear tree was introduced into the United States in
1963 by the USDA, having been planted here since after the turn of the
last century. They are originally native to Korea and China. It is a fast
growing tree that flowers early in spring before any leaves are born.
Young trees hold their pyramidal shape fairly well, and compliment the
front elevation of newer homes. Many people fall in love with the rich
autumn color and spring blossoms of these popular trees .

Besides the masses of flowers and narrow shape, Bradford Pears are
hardy and disease resistant. Many municipalities plant them along streets
because the roots are not invasive like some trees, and the mature height
won't interfere with overhead power lines. The fall color is yellow, and also
a nice added feature of this tree.

The Bradford Flowering Pear is a decorative small to
mid-sized tree that adds some very nice spring flowers
and attractive color. These are becoming very popular,
and you can understand why!
